Vienna and Rayne

No!!!

Dear Vienna,

As it is with many toddlers, your favorite word is No!

Do you want to go to bed?

NO, No, NO!!

Do you want to get into your pajamas?

NnnnnnnnO!

Do you want ice cream!

no?

So, the other night when I went into your room to give you your 2nd tucking in of the night (I do this when it's my turn to go to bed) I must have disturbed you in your restful slumber, because as I tightened up the bedding to make sure you don't kick off the blankets throughout the night, you let out a soft and sleepy, nnooo....

I had to leave the room to stifle my giggles.

Love you,

Mom.

Big day. You both actually asked Dad for a kiss... finally :)

Dear Rayne and Vienna,

It has been so nice getting to see you so much since I've been working at home with Mom.

Today however was super special!  You both can be kinda stingy with the kisses, but before you went out to the park, you actually asked for a "daddy kiss"... both of you!

Well my loves:  thank you.

Daddy :)

Potty training - trained!

We're so proud of you my dear little Vienna, asking to go poo-poo on the 'tolet' when you were already in bed!
You are potty trained. I knew you were ready, and instead of pull-ups - nothing is what actually works. Yup. You both wander around during the day commando. Potty training was complete in one day. Now we're just working on sleep time.
Love you both!!
Hugs,
Mom!
P.s. Daddy loves you with all his heart, that's why he takes pictures of you on the toilet. And sits by you holding your hand, and gets you a chocolate treat after you're done.

Happy Birthday

We are so happy you are in our lives. You bring us much joy, laughter and the occassional tear. ;)
Today we kept things simple and had your favorite meal (mac and cheese) and juice boxes. I know, not the healthiest meal - I suspect your distaste of vegetables was inherited from your father. For dessert, you get to decorate your own chocolate cupcake. I can't wait for the cleanup.... Tristjan!! :)
There are more presents for you to open. Thanks to your grandparents, we may need a bigger house just to store all the toys you score at this time of year.
Love you always,
Mom

Puke and cheese

Dear Rayne,
Both Dad and I feel like we've been drinking all night at an all-inclusive Mexican resort. But let me tell you, it was no party. Lots of vomit yes, but no booze. Dad and I were getting ready for bed when we heard you coughing. I just worried you were getting my cold but Dad heard it better. He heard you choking on cheese curdles. He quickly rescued you so you wouldn't wake up Vienna and cleaned up what we could without disturbing your sister.
We brought you into bed with us which Dad loves. He thinks it's a special treat, but I know better. Especially when it involves a little one purging oneself of possible bacteria ingested from the Glenmore Resevoir. (I've got to keep all eyes on you)
Dad was sweet and gave you some water. I didn't want to be bossy to dad so I let him do it. Although I was a bit worried you weren't quite done.
You weren't.
Dad was quite the champ. He didn't even complain.
Next time, Mom was a little quicker on the reflexes and caught the last of the cheese curdles.
You are loved. And we're all a bit tired and cranky today to prove it.

Love Mom

I'm just walking to the kitchen!!

Girls, you really love me, I know. I'm sure that if you could get transferred back to my womb, you would.

This is how much you love me: I walk to the kitchen from the living room, you cry. I get up to get the phone, you cry. I need to go the bathroom, you need to be in there with me, inspecting the toilet, my bum and anything else you shouldn't be touching.

By the way, I love you just as much!

Mom
